Fabric Weaving - Create Custom Fabric
Jazz up that purse, iron tote, bag, quilt, shirt, iPad/iPhone sleeve . . . the list can go on and on with custom-made woven fabric.  It's surprisingly easy to do and worth the effort.  In class we will make a zippered pouch to learn the technique.  The fabric is created by weaving 1" strips of raw edge fabric cut from fat quarters or full width fabric.  The new piece is further embellished with heavy 12 wt. Aurifil thread.

        Captain's Wheel
This beautiful quilt is a Judy Niemeyer pattern featuring her foundation paper piecing technique.  This method allows quilters to create intricate and complex projects.  Judy's goal is to create a process that provides the inspiration to start a project, as well as a basic understanding of the process that results in finished projects.  Our teacher for this class, Patsy Carpenter, is a Judy Niemeyer trained and certified teacher.  Patsy is from Bakersfield and has been teaching this technique all over the state for the past year.  We welcome her to our classroom, and encourage you to take advantage of her expertise.
