MARCH 2010
March 20th is National Quilt Day. We will be celebrating this day by having a "free sew day" in The Clubhouse. There will be sale items and specials going on in the shop, as well as, refreshments. If you think you would like to sew that day, please call to reserve your space.
The Spring 2010 issue of Quilts and More just arrived in the shop last Tuesday. As usual there are some really neat ideas for projects of all kinds - two cute baby bibs, a tote bag, throws, pin cushion, etc.
Jennifer Rapacki will be back on Saturday, March 27th, to teach Electric Quilt. You will learn how to use the sketchbook and libraries, scan and import your own fabrics, set blocks into quilt layouts, add borders, color blocks, and more as time permits. Jennifer demonstrated all this at our guild last month, and it's fascinating what this computer program can do.
Susan McDermott continues to be here every Monday evening with the Monday Mavens, as does Terrie Eskew on Thursday evenings with her Finish It Class. These two classes are very similar as they are continuous and open to everyone. You can bring your own projects and get help if you need it, or you can participate in the project being taught. When a new project is introduced, we hang a sample in the shop and post it on the website. I will also tell you about it in the newsletter. Please take advantage of the expertise of these two fantastic teachers.
The next Old Town Quilt Shop Retreat is scheduled for May 14-16. Be sure to sign up early to reserve your space.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended the Old Town Quilt Shop Five Year Anniversary Retreat, and for the beautiful plant garden you gave me. What a thoughtful thing to do. I so enjoyed that whole week of celebrating, and am very thankful for five years in this business. I appreciate all of you and thank you for your support.
Happy quilting!
